It's as cold as ice...

But it is lovely in front of the fire!!  Monday was a corker - ambient -6 to -2!  You certainly felt it!  Rather pooped & tired - the ol' bones don't like the cold.

♒ Turn it up ♒

Tonight I take the time
Sitting back, life realign
Oh my
When did the music fade?

Listening to the howling wind
Wondering, considering how to begin
Oh why
Did the music start to fade?

So come morning, we will sing
Whatever tune the morning crew brings
Oh I
Need the music played!

One more sleep . . .

Got the small boy packed for his weekend away.  MyMan started packing his week of suits & such - - but fell asleep.  Me - I so have no idea what to pack!  Should I pack food??  Oh well - Happy Camp ~ here I come!

Rainy Days in Paradise

Do you like this, do you enjoy the calls
When you fain you're the victim of woes
It's like you want to fight, but have no cause
So make it up, confuse us because
Then you're the one who gets it all

I don't know you, who you are, what's in store
You tell me one thing, tell all others some more
It plays off the confusing tales you spread around
Of those who care for your heart and keep it sound,
But you just throw ours on the ground

You say I don't hear you
When I dont give the answer or thing that you want
Should I remind you
I've never judged you before
Of all who've walked beside you
I was the only one staying friends
Maybe they all saw what I'd not
And escaped before this sad end

So long as the sun still shines...

Actually, it is a beautiful sunny morning ~ a little blustery out, but not that icy cold it has been.  Sadly, the lovely 9oc it is currently will not be so lovely over the weekend - 9 is the expected high for both days.

Streaming lights cast long shadows
That stretch out beyond the walls
But shadows are unable to touch
To catch you should you fall

A well lit room sends beams of light
Out windows into the street
It offers warmth and friendliness
This promise it cannot keep

If wishes were kisses . . .

♒ This Heart ♒

Dear child are those tears I see, do not cry
Throw away those troubles, I've tried to dry my eyes
'Cause you know its not as bad as that at all
Come on precious angel, please don't cry

See the darkest time comes 'fore the break of day
And every time you think love's gone, you must learn to sway
All around you as the world appears to fall
It's time to look back, open options, don't run away

If you fear
For too long
You will find
Reasons why
Not to love
It will set your heart to grey

It's time to step up and to give it all we've got
One can proffer lots of reasons, if we're honest they're all rot
The chance may pass by this time, it's your call
Are we worth it, is it over or is it not

In the end
What you want
Aint what you get
We both know
What to do
It shouldn't break your heart this way

So walk beside me, walk together, be as one
When you cast your mind back, it's really been great fun
Both of us are winners, able to stand tall
Moving forward, hand in hand, toward the sun

A particularly meandering Monday . . .

It's a bleak and bleary ol' day - absolutely frosty, misty, frozen this morning. I've got about a gazillion thoughts running through my poor brain and lots needs to organised by Friday.  The little guy plays . . .

♒ Childish Innocence ♒

Once, when we were younger
Knowing not what the future held
Every dream or goal or aspiration
Was the focus of our world

A hopeful swimmer training hard
On the coldest, frozen mornings
The aspiring artist gazing out
Seeing new masterpieces forming

Two friends planning to conquer all
'We'll be friends forever' always
How easy it was supposed to be
In the childish innocent days

This one needs more - so we might have to return to Childish Innocence over the next week or so - - isnt that a wonderful thought . . .

The New Week Ahead

One thing I rely upon is planning.  I don't mean rigid, inflexible planning where all time is accounted, activities set & undertaken.  Pfft ~ Hardly!  But I do like to have a few goals each day, each week - keeping time for the fun stuff - probably too much time for the fun stuff!! *grins*

♒ Truly Loved ♒

I look at your face
And I see my true love
You captured my heart
And you lift me above
The disappointments in life
They just fade away
When you hold my hand
And look at me that way

School holidays are almost here so I thought baking would be a great way to spend time together with the small boy inside, warm & not in front of a screen . . .

This week the pantry stocktake must be done.  It shall be an adventure through packets & tins seeking the treasures of the bottom shelf and other significant finds up above.  As an extra challenge, if I decide to take it *grins*, will be to get the hired refridgerator back to Yoemans.  Peeved that after 5 years we can't purchase the fridge for less than $600 but - as we got a bigger one for $200 a few weeks ago - they can have it back and we'll save $66pm! Ridiculous we have not done this sooner

Add it to the list

One ~Mands Clutter...

An easy way to start to save the planet is reducing the 'stuff' being produced.  Yes - you need clothes, but can you op-shop, swap with friends rather than seek to buy it new? Hopefully this mammoth clearing of 'things' will result in treats and treasures for others.  I've decided that we are professional hoarders and as the plan is to move with minimal excess items ~ inspired the thoughts below.  Another of Richard's pics above.

I thought starting with Ballarat Buy Swap & Sell on Facebook as the first place to go.  I've not warmed to ebay so I cant see a 'shop' being set up by me any time soon.  Part of me says, box it up and give it to the Salvos - but I'd like the satisfaction of contributing to the household cash flow.  And, please correct me if I am wrong, selling items previously purchased, used or gifted don't play up on tax or family payments.  So double the score ~ space and savings...

♒ Hear the Warning ♒

Listen to the wind as is whistles through the trees
Carrying along messages, skipping under leaves
We need to start a might row,
Our planet needs repairing now

What will be tomorrow, if we don't care about today
If yesterday cannot be changed, do you think no way
What can I, one person do
Get together with one other like you

Make a change
Take just a little step
We've much to gain
For future benefit
It will be in our favour
Taking little effort
Work with your neighbour
Hear the warning

Can you foresee a future, one with many generations
One with hope and life through uniting of the nations
What we must do today
Join together, pave the way

To make a change
Take just a little step
We've much to gain
For future benefit
It will be in our favour
Taking little effort
Work with your neighbour
Here is your warning

Sunny Saturday ~ smiles everybody...

I am a little stumped today.  So many thoughts, activities, changes ~ that's the big difference - changes.  Things have been physically moved, rearranged, ordered.  I like it!  Just know I absolutely ache to the max and know my core muscles are working well ~ they are screaming at me ~ as if I didn't know!!  And it is so cold up this way ~ but it is very pretty and that is worth so much!!

Where there is a will...

It's only a moment
One you cant take back
You can claim no error
Blame others for the crap
Taking pictures in the dark
Find the fire in your heart
Know it happened
You made it happen
Cant change that

Making mountains out of molehills
Trying to put yourself on top
Doesn't make you best or better
This time it ended in a flop
You wanted for yourself
And thought of no one else
It cant be changed
There is no blame
What have you lost

If there is love within a friendship
Then regret is painful still
The hole in your heart is open
With me waiting here to fill
It will only take a few words
These are the ones to be heard
A bond so strong
Together so long
Where there is a will...

So I've linked to Facebook

It seems like a good idea, a step into self publishing but I don't want to bombard and annoy ~ so please, please let me know if are able to see the works, if you enjoy that and what suggestions do any experienced FB / blogger linked peeps have?

Today's offering . . .

Time Bandits

Have you noticed how time flies when having fun.
Or that suddenly the day is done.
I wonder where some days go.
But only the time bandit knows.

There's a reason for those speedy days.
Where events fly past in a blur, a haze.
You wonder if your memory's right,
When the time bandit turns day to night.

On days like this, good or bad, I sing.
If I had the chance, I wouldn't change a thing.
It doesn't matter what others may gain.
These are days when the time bandit ease pain.

Something I wrote earlier...

Not to have a theme ~ but it has been a remarkable journey recovering from spinal surgery.  Often lonely, rarely boring...

Displaced Misplaced

Speak to me, gentle child
As only you know the words
Sadly we cant read your mind
You must tell us to be heard

Standing in your shoes, alone
You think no one understands
The more you share, tell & say
Gives us knowledge so we can

If you dont like the actions
Then say they are not pleasing
When what is said is not for you
Say things you know, give reasoning

See those who love you most of all
Can read, see & hear when naught is said
But that you know which we do not
Sets the tensions and causes dread

Feel no shame, no fault, no guilt
Truly ~ what have you done wrong
Lean upon, take support, take help
Share the load, the pain, be strong

Know when it all is way too hard
Or choices made erode space & time
I listen to the pain, the muddled words
And take no fault, no blame, its not mine

On a bit of a roll, so I have also included:

Replay the Day

Did you know you can try again
Give things another go
Sometimes its easier the second time
That's one thing we ought to know
With a chance to replay the day
How would you place the blame
I never understood separate rules
But I'd do it all the same
With a chance to replay the day
I'll use my strength within
And smile, greet with no regret
I wouldn't change a thing✰

An admission ~ I write things . . .

Poems, prose, lyrics and stories.  I'm writing novel - have been for a while.  Two actually - one of 'fluff', one real.

Anyway - a lovely friend, Sara, told me to publish and I think this links to my Facebook now - so I hope you can read my current offering.  I would love feedback - and to know how you came to stumble across this piece.

With love

♒ Blue Dragons ♒   βყ ℳ∢η₫☡

So tell me friend what it is you plan for your precious crazy life
There must be more than travelling fast, to get somewhere not precise
When the swirling winds of pain & blame & shame are finally through
The one who wishes only love & peace awaits quietly to hear from you

Dreams and tales do not deny dragons, they just tell us they can be slain
Challenges make life interesting, the meaningful trials you overcame
Do you worry if it might be failure, about what others may think or say or see
That's always been the one thing that was so different with you & me

A shining refection upon mirrored stone, connecting love & insight
The attraction, a victim of blue dragons fights the desire to follow hope bright
One thing to learn at day's end, knowing the morning ahead is brand new
Is the weak cant forgive, it's a trait of the strong, like the bond held by me & you
