The first Monday and . . .

The Husband was driving past, notice a crowd, and there were these lovely old motors...

He has man-flu...

Poor love :x  ~ actually, he is crook and if for nothing more than the fact he is back in bed, resting and sleeping, then his exhausted 'sleep bank' and I will not doubt be grateful in days to come.  I'd fully prepared and accepted that these first few days will be full of him wanting to do this, that, everything - when he needs to do nothing, relax, clear the head.  The added lurgie just means he's got a more 'real' reason to actually see he needs to rest.

If I get my preferred timetable for this week, it will look a little like this:

Monday ~ Husband do nothing at all, ideally sleep, rest, eat, no thinking, maybe tidy the office desk, no sorting other than to rubbish, rest, no thoughts. Do the school pickup, no doubt to SmallBoy's delight.  I shall potter, dinner, tidy, plan - while doing a bit of laundry, chookie things, online stuff and rah
Did good and got mince out so making a big pot of spag bog - that can be dinner and to the freezer

Tuesday ~ I've got a therapy assessment at 9 o'clock. Hate mornings, but I'll just get the SmallBoy to school a little earlier. All going well, Husband will do much of the same as today (rest) plus a few phone calls to set up for Thursday (one last off to Melbourne doing the last work hoo-rah). Maybe move a few things around in the garage with MudGuts so there is sorting, storing room. Little bit of garden planting, little bit of chooken stuff. Maybe even lawn mowing, tho' I doubt weather will be permitting. Aiming for half-price movie night as a reward!
Something in the slow cooker with meat and veg - maybe moroccan and cauli, I've got the beef defrosting in the fridge now...

Wednesday ~ There are things that need to be done. Moving that one big thing from each room to make way for an alternative more usable space filler... I think I rambled about it last night.  It all starts with a pilates machine, or a bloody humongous toy box!!  Ooo - also garden bits which has reminded me I need to send an email - two ticks - - send menfolk out for bulbs, dig up, out and in said bulbs.  Chicken lady should make it today, if has not cut through Tuesday - yes, hidden messages re little roosters about to stop before they crow(k). Just blame the chicken lady *shhh*
Chicken tacos sound like a plan - but I might need too many things.  Trying to cut back any small shops and use the pantry.  Maybe sweet n sour on rice...

Thursday ~ Husband to Melbourne, a few papers to collect, bills to pay :D I'll have a tidy up around the place, its bin night so I am sure there will be rubbish to go out.  Might rake the time to empty the fridges & make 'leftover fridge bits' pie for dinner - adding another 'surprise me' sauce from the freezer.  It's amazing the pies this woman can make.  If oi says so meself...

Friday ~ One week to the first night of second bi-annual GlowCave Convention.  I know we will either have burgers and potato cakes or fish and chips.  I'll have the rest of the day worked out then.  We've got an exciting weekend coming up!!  *grins*

Hey - that was snow...
At least I think that was just snow?  It wasn't sleet or hail, that was a little earlier.  Gee it is a weird weather day today.  I commented to another that it had become so lovely, blue and sunny after a bit of a grey old drizzly morning. There was a bit of a Chinese laundry set up around the Coonara fire-box, thought what a great chance to wash some sheets and get them on the line (its an icy wind, sunshine, whites) but alas there was a coloured load in and going.  Good things too - by the time that was in the basket - no more blue sky, big purple-black clouds and some mighty fine rain.  Like we dont have enough - bright side : tank is full as!!  Must get more red gum.

So luckily no washing made it to the washing line, the inside laundry opened fully for 'business' and folding will commence soon - naturally, this late in the afternoon it is again blue sky, sunny...  But it has been pouring between that so more has dried inside and when something is working . . . leave it be!  I know the ambient fell below zero at one stage, boy did I notice that drop.  Was bit of a hard, fast storm but I am sure there was a whip of snow.  I love snow - it makes the place so pretty and worth suffering the bitter cold.

Oh, and the change to Husband is by his request until something more betterer can be thought of a moniker - I dont want the standard DH because if I plan on using DH in its original context of Richard Cranium, there must be no confusion.  All meanderings can be used in evidence even with the knowledge that much of the reported drinking is virtual, one must never let a little creative license get in the way of a good story and omission is not lying if it makes everyone look good :D  or something like that *big grins*

Digressing, fore which I am renown, the garden plans are moving on.  I am about to put seed to pots in a sheltered area of the back courtyard/former fernery soon to be nursery and hot house spot.  I've decided to get a head start on some seedlings that can go into the beds when they settle over the first few weeks.  Soil with need turning and maybe a little nutrients - we will know soon enough how LittleBed 1 and 2 will go.  The BigBed has a lot of weed to move (easy) and blackberry (not so easy) plus there will surely be sticky weed.  Getting that out will allow the leeks already in to flourish and any self seeded tomatoes or asian greens to come back up.  We'll move a lot of those into a ready area, perhaps even pot up many to barter for others or simply give away to anyone interested - depends on what comes up I guess.  No point counting chickens...

Any way - There are two new, beautiful citrus trees in the courtyard at the moment.  With the netting down they are getting plenty of rain while staying protected while we work out where, when, how to go from here.  Its a weekend plan unless I find something that says to plant grafted lemon or lime trees within the next 48hrs...  Please say this isnt so. *hopeful*

I've got three big pots up with some nice soil and have put in lettuce, onion, carrot, pea and broad bean seed in to get some seedlings up and started within this current moon cycle to work in with the next move into the actual beds.  LittleBed1 will be ready in 4-6 weeks - its had a turn over, feed and extra love.  LittleBed2 is about a fortnight or so behind.  If BigBed is clear by November, I'll be happy as. *chuckles* Easy to please really - nothing fancy here!

Bolognes sauce has come along nicely by the smell of it.  Husband picked up the SmallBoy from school and took up his title as better spagbog maker so with some agreement, he has merrily cooked away while school project work was reviewed, re-drafted and made a lot less manageable than this big scary 'Designing my Dream House' was turning into!  Its back to a floor plan of the ideal house layout and a few rooms computer generated to be 'interior designed' - - but the atrium, courtyard and chook area have been relegated to 'special features' offered in the Lotus Design matrix, now in point form not detailed explanation.  Where does he get that from? *ponders*  And why can I be so succinct when editing what others try to say, but not my own??  *gasps* more philosophicationing...

OK - Monday has come and gone, not a cent was spent.  Excellent.  All items required for breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow are accounted for - milk will be required in time for Wednesday's breakfast.  So - this week I have designated $25 (Monday to Sunday) and 3litres will cost me $3.10.  IF I am lucky I will find a litre or two at markdown - I aim for 33-66% off and usually find a 2L for about $1 at one of the big two supermarkets. Milk only lasts 2-3 days here, so if it only has a few days, it'll be gone...

I shall keep a tally of the week's food, grocery and sundries spending, that's for the two adults, 10yo hungry boys, 19yo drop-in devour any foods stuffs offered until stopped for 2-3 dinners and betweens, the cats - the chooks are set for the next few months.
$25.00 currently available.

Might leave the waffle there - it's been a bit of a long day.  The dining table is all set up and looking nice, project work has been done very neatly and clearly, plus some maths was started.  Enjoy your evening, your morning, your day AND your week.  Looking forward to the blog growing as much as the veggies, the savings, the thoughts, the changes, the de-cluttering and all these little life adventures that fall passed the door...

     What Prize   ♒

Wishing hard upon a star never made it true
Deciding it came, the time to make change
Brought the hoped-for into your view

Listening to loose lips who rely upon gossipers' tongue
Is fun for a while, until you see the witch smile
Realising how her deal-break was won

Why too late if one mistake was at another soul's hand
History has shown, from error has grown
The bond-breaking love of true stand

Let it go, dont want to know a reason, lie or plea
A silly ghost, only fantasy can host
With the audience gone you'll soon see

Using silk lined with guilt in such gentle dulcet tones
It lines your brain, clear thoughts insane
Until you love those haunted moans

One step back, finally at last you see me really
Open your eyes, what to you is the prize
You can see where the truth lies so clearly
